Sustainability award

Evaldo Costa, researcher at DINÂMIA'CET_Iscte, distinguished with the Sustainability award at the 3rd Asia Pacific Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management for his presentation on the challenges and contributions of transport electrification to boost sustainability transitions.


Evaldo Costa was a keynote invited speaker at the Technoprenurship Panel for electric mobility of the 3rd Asia Pacific Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management, held between 13-15 September 2022, in Malaysia.


The online presentation was entitled "The challenges and contributions of transport electrification to boost sustainability transitions". The exposition highlighted the current global situation of transport greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and projections for 2030 as well as the main mitigation actions to support a rapid decarbonization of the transport sector, such as the fleet electrification with renewable energy sources (RES), and accelerating sustainability transition pathways.


The main points of the presentation, and of the debates, were focused on answering questions such as 1. What is the growth and the innovation of vehicle electrification, especially for urban area? 2. How well does the innovation interface? 3. To what extent can a new start-up company develop a new business innovation model in vehicle electrification? 4. What is the challenge occurred in the business model of vehicle electrification? 5. What is the role of technopreneur in accelerating a new business innovation in vehicle electrification? 6. What is the Government support required by the community to support new start-up business in vehicle electrification?




The presentation attracted the interest of the audience and was distinguished with a Sustainability Award.
